AAA Cards Challenge #102 - Ink Blending

Hello everyone,

We are here with a new challenge over at AAA Cards and it's one of my favourites.  Wait, I think I say that about all of them!

I started with distress oxide inks as these are just fabulous. I used a stencil from Hero Arts and I blended in the worn lipstick and peacock feathers in the bottom corner of the card panel.  Then I stamped the sentiment with black ink and added a few Nuvo snow white drops to finish off the card.

Our wonderful sponsor Stamplorations is offering a $15 gift card!

Hello everyone,

Today we are hopping to celebrate all things fall and winter - and to rev up your holiday cardmaking motors! We are also joining Lea Lawson during her month-long Crafty Comeback Party. Lea is an amazing designer, and we are thrilled to support her! Tune into her blog every day this month - she began the party on October 7, and there have been many beautiful cards and fabulous giveaways along the way!  To make this party extra fun, we invited along the fabulously talented team at A Blog Named Hero! Lots of inspiration on this hop today.

Prize: We will be giving away a $25 gift certificate, randomly chosen from all of the comments left at every stop along the blog hop. To enter, leave a comment on any of the blogs by Friday, November 10 at 11:59 pst, and the winner will be announced on Lea Lawson's blog the on Sunday, November 12.

For my card I used the postage stamp nesting dies and cut out a piece of red card stock. I then stamped the tree with Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder and I did the same with the sentiment.

I then added a chibitronic light to the back and used foam tape to pop it up.  I took a white card base and added Versamark to the sides and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder to tie in the gold star at the top of the tree.  I then lined it up with the light and removed all the backing from the foam tape and added it to the card base.  To finish off my card I added red stickles to tree.

Here is a list of the hop.  Hope you'll join us along the way!

A Blog Named Hero Mid-month Inspiration

Hello everyone,

Again, another month half gone!  But this month is my favourite because of all the beautiful colours the trees turn.

We are at the midway point of our A Blog Named Hero Critters collaboration challenge with Hero Arts and Lawn Fawn.

I used the Leafy Tree backdrop (landscape) die and cut it out of white card stock and with the die that cuts out either the foliage for the tree or a hill, I cut out a piece of watercolour wishes paper. I added the foliage and tree die to an A2 size card base. There is a little snow cluster stamp in the Colour Layering Christmas Tree stamp set so I used that to stamp the snow in the background with soft pool ink.

I had this little penguin left over from another project and he looked so lonely on my desk I just had to add him to this card.  I coloured him in with my copics and added glossy accents to the ice and the strawberry snow cone and adhered it all with liquid glue.  To finish off the card I stamped the sentiment from the same layering stamp set with black dye ink.

AAA Cards Challenge #101 - Inspired by Film

Hello everyone,

We are back with a fun challenge for you this week over at AAA Cards and it's cards created by film.

I'm sure you've guessed by now that it's The Pirates of the Carribean.  It happened to be playing on TV back to back all weekend so I thought I'd do up a card.

I started out by adding some distress ink in Salty Ocean (which I thought was fitting) and scattered straw and then added some water droplets. I used the sweet images from Lawn Fawn that I coloured for the30-day colouring challenge an added them to the card. I popped up "Jake" with foam tape and added the rest with liquid adhesive.  I added the sentiment to the card with black in and then added happy birthday to the inside (not pictured).

Our amazing sponsor: Winnie & Walter is offering a $25 gift certificate so be sure to head over to our blog and link up your CAS cards inspired by your favourite film.

AAA Cards Challenge #100 - Sketch

Hello everyone,

We are back with a sketch challenge for you with AAA Cards.  This was so much fun to create.  I was also able to do up a video for you and you can scroll down to see it.

I masked off the card base with post-it notes and stamped the sweet little otter up and down with Lawn Fawn jet black in.  I love this ink.  I then took off the masking and took a ruler and made lines above and below the stamped images so they looked finished.

I coloured them in with my copics and stamped the sentiment from the Celebration Countdown set with the same ink. I then added the panel to a card base so you don't see the ink through to the inside. Sometimes this doesn't bother me but I didn't want to waste a card base just in case I messed it up.  To finish off the card I added some black dots with some Nuvo drops.

Feel free to rotate the sketch or change the width of the strip.

I hope you'll have as much fun with this sketch as we did. I hope you'll join us with our challenge.  We can't wait to see what you create.

I'm also entering my card for the SSS Wednesday Challenge
